Museum seeks community stories for new community gallery

Museum gallery

The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon is reaching out to local groups and organisations, inviting them to be part of the cultural narrative by exhibiting in the newly inaugurated community gallery.

The museum is on the lookout for community groups with compelling stories, projects, or celebrations to collaborate on creating exhibitions that resonate with the local audience.

Selected community groups will receive comprehensive support throughout the exhibition process, from planning to display and promotion. This initiative provides a platform for groups to share their narratives with a broader audience and contribute to the cultural richness of the community.

Museum Curator, Alison Mills, says: "I am excited to open our doors to local community groups, inviting them to bring their stories to life in our new community gallery. These stories shape our cultural landscape, and we're eager to share them with the wider community."

To submit a proposal, groups are being asked to visit the museum's website and fill in their online form. The submission deadline is Wednesday, 14 February. For further information and inquiries, please contact museum@northdevon.gov.uk.
