Permit terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for parking permits

The purchase of a permit does not override the regulations of a car park. Each car park has its own regulations which are on signs in every car park and on the parking information section on our website.

If you need to use an alternative vehicle you must log in to your account and add the temporary vehicle and ensure it is selected as the 'active' vehicle.

If more than one vehicle is registered on your account, each time you wish to park a different vehicle you must log in to your account and ensure the correct vehicle is active. Only one vehicle can park using a permit.

Possession of a permit does not guarantee a space on the car parks.

A resident’s permit may not be used in a reserved permit holder’s bay.

Car park specific permits are only valid in the car parks for which they are designated

Resident’s car park permits are only available for residents living within a ¼ mile radius of the car park.  Proof of address and vehicle ownership required. This may mean only part streets are covered.

Reserved permits

Reserved permits with bays in Castle Quay, Coronation Street, Loverings Court, Lower Pilton, Magdalene Lawn, Mary Magdelene, Oxford Grove, Portland Buildings, Portmarsh Lane & Rolle Quay are only valid for the car park and the space number(s) stated on your account.

Reserved Bay permits

Permit holders are assigned a specific bay number. If an unauthorised vehicle is parked in your bay the parking office must be informed immediately either by calling customer services 01271 388279 or emailing the parking office. We may be able to find suitable alternative space in which you can park.

If you have been provided with a secure locking bollard it is the permit account holders’ responsibility to ensure that the bollard is secured in an upright locked position when the bay is not in use. Failure to do this may cause damage for which the permit holder may be invoiced for costs incurred.

Please note that Castle Quay Car Park is liable to flooding. It is your responsibility to check the tides and if the weather and tide make the car park unusable you are requested to use Commercial Road Car Park during this period only. Tide timetables are provided to each permit holder and it is the permit holder’s responsibility to check tide times, and whether the car park closed sign is in position. If you do not have a tide timetable and would like one, we can arrange for one to be sent to you or collected.
