Queen Street car park is set to close temporarily on Tuesday 7 May as local company Mac Plant Ltd starts work to improve it in the next stage of the Barnstaple "Market Quarter" improvements.

The next stage of the Barnstaple "Market Quarter" improvements will start on Tuesday 26 March, as North Devon Council's contractors, Pearce Construction, plan to set up a site compound in an area of Queen Street car park.

Plans for creating a mixed-use development in the heart of Barnstaple are one step closer to fruition as North Devon Council awards a construction firm the contract to build the project.
