Residents in Knowle are being advised of a change of polling station ahead of local elections on Thursday (1 May 2025).
Due to unforeseen circumstances, voters who were due to attend the polling station at The Ebrington Arms, Knowle, are now asked to vote at The Church Hall, Christchurch, East Street, Braunton, EX33 2EA.
The council is writing to those affected to advise of the change of polling station. All other polling stations within the North Devon district remain unchanged.
Deputy Returning Officer at North Devon Council, Ken Miles, said: "We understand that this change of polling station is likely to cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologise for any disruption caused as a result of these unforeseen circumstances. We have written to all affected voters to inform them of the change and the details of their new polling station.
"All other polling stations remain unchanged, and I hope as many people as possible will be attending their local polling station on 1 May, with a valid form of photo ID, to exercise their right to vote."
Residents attending all polling stations need to show photo ID if they intend to vote. Types of accepted photo ID include passports and drivers' licences, as well as some concessionary travel passes such as an older persons' bus pass. The upcoming elections are the first in which a HM Armed Forces Veteran Card can be used as photo ID. Voters may use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.
More information about the elections can be found on the council's website.
