A new website for Barnstaple will be launched on Monday 9 September, as part of the district's Flourishing Culture initiative.
Featuring information on local events, a cultural directory and business listings, the website - barnstaple.co.uk - aims to be a one-stop shop for visitors and those who live within the area.
One of the key aspects of the website is that any Barnstaple-based organisation or business will have the accessibility to add their own events and profiles for their businesses. This will help make the site universal and inclusive of all cultural and business activities within the town.
Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor David Clayton said: “After consultation with the Town Team for Culture and local businesses it was clear that the town needed a fresh and up-to-date website, where information about what the town has to offer is ready available.
“Barnstaple is a town full of thriving cultural activity and local businesses, and the website hopes to bring information about all of these together!"
Website users will also be able to sign up to receive bulletins containing all the latest news and events relating to culture in Barnstaple through a link to North Devon Council's email updates page.
Information on the new website, including for businesses and organisations on how to upload their details, is available by contacting culture@northdevon.gov.uk.
The new website has been made possible thanks to the Government's Cultural Development Fund and in consultation with the Barnstaple Town Team for Culture and Barnstaple Town Council.
