North Devon Council is reminding local groups to make the most of its Community Councillor Grant Scheme before it closes at the end of January.
The scheme allocates each North Devon councillor £1,000 to award to projects or groups throughout the year within the North Devon district. The council is welcoming applications until 31 January.
The grants offer support to charities, voluntary and community groups and not-for-profit organisations towards projects that directly help local people, the local environment and the local community.
Youth clubs, toddler groups, sports clubs, museums, village halls and environmental groups have all benefited from grants in the past. Grants can be used to help with equipment costs, activities or just to help with day-to-day running and operation costs.
Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor Ian Roome, says: "Our Community Councillor Grant scheme can support a wide range of projects, whether it's longstanding charities and groups, or those which are just starting up. We are always looking to support our local clubs, communities and organisations who are making a difference for the people in North Devon.
"Our website has lots of information about the scheme, how to apply and a list of all the projects and organisations that have been supported. Applications are being considered until 31 January so please get yours in as soon as possible!"
For information about the scheme, or to apply online visit the Community Councillor Grants page on the council's website. It is recommended that potential applicants contact the Grants team on 01271 388253 to check that funds are available in their area, prior to applying.
