Our Climate and Environment Grants (CEG) scheme is new for 2020. The scheme has been introduced to help fund parish council projects in the North Devon district which have an emphasis on sustainability and countering climate change.

The scheme is available to parishes with populations of less than 1,000 (as of November 2019) towards their projects. A list of eligible parishes is available here.

Applications for grants from the scheme can be made by eligible parishes to fund parts of their projects including:

  • training costs
  • set up costs and/or promotion
  • purchase of goods or equipment
  • costs of an event(s) to raise awareness of an issue

£20,000 of funding is available in grants through the scheme for the financial years 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Applications for a CEG will be considered by a panel of councillors twice a year - the first round in September 2020 for applications received between April and 31 August. Applications for the second round need to be received by 31 January.

Full details about the scheme including how to apply, who can apply, what grants can be provided for is available in our Climate and Environment Grants Policy web pages.
