We are responsible for monitoring the quality of water supplied by water companies within the district.

Our sampling is usually limited to the investigation of complaints from local residents or businesses, concerning strange tastes or materials in the water. This is in addition to water companies who carry out a great deal of sampling of their own supplies to ensure they reach the required water quality.

The vast majority of water supplied in Devon is by mains water supply provided by South West Water. If you would like to raise a complaint about mains water, please contact South West Water in the first instance.
