On Wednesday 22 June, North Devon Council arranged a public meeting to address concerns relating to contamination issues at the former Fremington Army Camp.

The meeting was requested following allegations that asbestos contaminated material may have been transported from Fremington to another site in open-topped lorries. However, at the meeting, council officers confirmed that, based on sampling, there was no indication that asbestos was in the material that had been transported.
