What is Council Tax Reduction?

Our Council Tax Reduction (CTR) scheme - also known as Council Tax Support (CTS) - came into effect from 1 April 2013.
CTR helps anyone who is liable for paying Council Tax for their home and on a low income; they can be in or out of work or in receipt of state benefits. The amount you receive depends on your income and circumstances.
If you are of pension age, CTR remains a Government prescribed scheme.
