A provisional statement lets you know whether a premises, which is being or about to be built or substantially altered to provide licensable activities, would be granted a premises licence once building works are complete.
This gives you an idea whether or not the proposed business is viable before investing significant amounts of money.
Apply for a provisional statement
You will also need to:
- pay the appropriate fee
- read the guidance notes on provisional statement applications (pdf 189KB)
- provide a schedule of works
- provide a plan of the premises
- confirm that you have simultaneously served the application to the appropriate responsible authorities
