Does the Council investigate the abuse/neglect of pet dogs, cats or other domestic animals?

No, North Devon Council does not investigate complaints of animal abuse/neglect in a domestic home. If you have concerns for pet animals you should contact the  RSPCA - Report cruelty or an animal in distress

We only investigate complaints surrounding animal welfare in premises that are, or should be licenced.

Making a complaint

If you wish to make a complaint about a licensed premises; a premises which you believe requires a licence, but does not hold one; or are concerned for human safety at an animal licensed business please email licensing@northdevon.gov.uk or telephone 01271 388870.
