Local newspaper relief was originally a temporary relief for 2017/18 and 2018/19, awarding a grant of £1,500 in line with eligibility criteria set out in guidance produced by Central Government. The relief was then extended a further year 2019/20.

The Government now intends to extend this discount for a further 5 years until 31 March 2025.
