North Devon Crematorium opened in 1966 and is the only crematorium in the North Devon area. The buildings sit within beautiful memorial gardens that feature a stunning array of roses and shrubs and provide a fitting place for peaceful reflection and remembrance.
On-site car parking is available for 130 cars with additional on-street parking available in the immediate vicinity (please park considerately). The car park closes at 4.30pm.
There are two chapels available:
Aspen is the original chapel, capable of seating 66 mourners and is ideal for smaller services. Following a major refurbishment and upgrade in March 2019, we are now able to show tribute pictures and videos on large screens, as well as the facility to webcast and record services. Music can be provided by a digital music system or a professional organist, when available.
Rowan was completed in 2016 and is currently the largest crematorium chapel in the whole of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It can accommodate extremely large services with seating for over 250 mourners and a quiet viewing room where mourners have a need for privacy or quiet. There is also standing room for a significant number of additional mourners if needed. A very large canopy provides weather protection to visitors in the event of poor weather. The chapel is able to webcast services to anywhere in the world as well as having the benefits of digitally downloaded music, video tributes and recording. All services in Rowan are discretely recorded, meaning that if a mourner missed the service a recording can be obtained up to 6-weeks after the service.
Each chapel has its own waiting room toilets, disabled toilets and floral tribute viewing area.
Service times are available at 40 minute intervals (service duration 30 minutes) with the ability to book a ‘double-service’.
There is a wide choice of memorials in terms of type and cost available at the crematorium. Please contact us for further information.
