Job Vacancy: Housing Officer (Housing Advice and Homelessness)
Full time, permanent contract
Salary: £20,661 - £25,951 per annum + essential car user allowance
We are looking for the right person to join our busy Housing Advice and Homelessness team at our North Devon Council’s offices. The primary aim of this role is to prevent and resolve customer homelessness. Our Housing Officers will usually be the first point of contact in this customer facing service providing timely, high quality advice and assistance to maximise their housing opportunities.
The postholder will need to be able to demonstrate:
- Educated to Higher National Diploma or degree level or an equivalent level qualification and training
- Experience of preventing and resolving homelessness
- Good knowledge of housing legislation
- Experience of representing your organisation and customers in formal settings
- Experience of working with statutory and voluntary organisations
- Excellent communication skills
The service is transitioning to deliver new duties in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and therefore you must be able to demonstrate an ability to deal with this change.
