Job Vacancy: Housing Advice - Financial Assistance Officer

22 hours 12 minutes per week, permanent contract

Salary: £16,781 - £20,138 per annum, pro rata


The Environmental Health and Housing Service is seeking enthusiastic persons to join our busy teams based at Brynsworthy Environment Centre, Roundswell, Barnstaple.

You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, have an ability to work flexibly to changing demands and operate in a coordinated manner with other team members to ensure successful outcomes.

This post will:

  • Support the issue of financial assistance to prevent or alleviate homelessness
  • Monitor and recover financial assistance
  • Maintain accurate records

Ideally you need to have:

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (2 of which are English and Maths) or equivalent experience
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Be a confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Have an awareness of homelessness legislation
