We have a dedicated outreach service to provide advice, assistance and support for those who are, or those at risk of, sleeping rough. If you are rough sleeping, we may be able to help.

Tell us about a rough sleeper

We provide emergency overnight accommodation for rough sleepers during periods of very cold weather.

From October to March, rough sleepers can stay overnight at Salvation Army Hall, Oakleigh Road, Barnstaple if the temperature drops to freezing, or below freezing, for three nights in a row.

The service operates on a night by night basis while the temperature remains at zero degrees Celsius or lower. If the temperature is forecast above zero the provision will end.

When the service is operational, doors will open at 9.00pm on a Monday and Tuesday, 8.00pm Wednesday - Sunday. Last admittance is 10pm. After 10pm clients can only be referred in by the police or our out of hours team.
