Get involved in our project to improve and enhance Pilton Park, as part of wider proposals to reduce the risk of flooding at nearby neighbouring properties.

Pilton Park is currently a flood plain but a proposed flood defence scheme would see the River Yeo redirected through Pilton Park alongside Pilton Causeway in order to reduce the risk of future flooding in the Pilton and Pottington areas of Barnstaple. Redirection of the river will reduce the risk of flooding at nearby properties but will result in a fundamental change to the park. The space lost from the park through the redirection of the River Yeo can be reclaimed from the redundant river route and provide a unique opportunity for the future of this valued green space.

We are working with LDA Design, who also designed the Olympic park in London, to draw up some ideas for the future design of the park.

Please take a look at their design ideas (pdf 9MB) and let us know what you think about the plans.

Email your comments to Have-your-say-on-pilton-park@northdevon.gov.uk or come along to one of our consultation events at Pilton Park on Friday 28 or Saturday 29 July from 10am to 4pm.
